Project Description

Client: Fiji Islands Location: England, Wales & Scotland

Fijians have a long and distinguished history of serving in the British Army, a relationship that dates back to the late 19th century and continues to this day. This enduring connection reflects both historical ties and the mutual benefits of such service.

The Challenges

Many people do not understand the blend of culture the Fijian brings to the UK. The Fijian community in the UK is tight-knit and often centred around military bases. It maintains its cultural traditions, including community church services and celebrations like Fiji Day. Rugby is a significant part of Fijian culture, and many Fijian soldiers continue to play and promote the sport within the British Army, fostering cohesion and camaraderie.
